Two more miners in Benguet died after being trapped inside a private mining site last Tuesday afternoon, police said Thursday.

Initial reports disclosed by Superintendent Arni Dean Emock, information chief of the Cordillera Region police, revealed that the victims were trapped at a mining site at Sitio Gueday, Barangay Taneg in Mankayan town due to water erosion.

The incident, which happened about 3 p.m., occurred a day after two tunnel workers suffocated to death in Tuba town of said province.

Emock identified the victims in Tuesday's incident as Ambrosio Calado, 46, a resident in said area; and Denver Caligyo, 21, of Barangay Kayan in Tadian, Mt. Province.

Their bodies were retrieved by local residents later in the day, said Emok. - GMANews.TV
