Energy : the answer is blowin' in the wind!

A provocative, well-researched, and potentially highly important, study seeks to demolish many assumptions currently awash in the "carbon markets", among politicians , and in the White House itself, as to what constitutes clean energy.

According to Mark Z. Jacobson, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Stanford University, wind, water and sun beat other energy alternatives in terms of both cost and effectiveness.

His study concludes that the best ways to improve energy security, mitigate global warming and reduce the number of deaths caused by air pollution, are through wind and wave power - not in the form of biofuels or nuclear power - let alone coal.
