South Africans To Sue European Banks

Published by MAC on 2002-06-16

This article cover the intentions by some South Africans who suffered appallingly from apartheid, to sue European banks for their "oiling" of that anti-human destructive political machine. Not much attention so far has been paid to considerations of suing companies which did busness with the regime - a point mentioned in the article below, though it doesn't list mining companies alongside oil companies. This includes the world's three biggest mining companies BHP-Billiton (then partially functioning as Gencor), Rio Tinto, Anglo American, and the world's biggest gold miner, Newmont, were all profitting under apartheid.
