Trouble follows Big A!

Alcoa - the world's premier aluminium company - has been getting into trouble in at least three places on which it's recently dared to tread.

Last July Trinidadians were up in arms when it proposed to site a smelter in a pristine part of their island. http://www.minesandcommunities.org/Action/press1184.htm

Then, Icelandic conservationists erupted in outrage at the government go-ahead for the company's plans to construct a hydro plant by damming glacial rivers.

And now the US corporation has started drilling for bauxite in a Jamaican nature sanctuary which hosts more than a hundred unique species of flowers and several at-risk species of birds and bats.
