The following is an important account of how citizens have taken on corporate, linked with political, power - to assert their constitutional - and community, indeed human rights - in a relatively small US community.

Not only is the project concerned a quarry/cement plant, but the implications of success for the people - if they achieve it - goes far wider than that of the US. It strikes to the heart of democracy in practice and the utterly pernicious assumption of "rights" made by corporations over people
